About Us.

REFUGYM empowers residents of Malakasa Camp to utilise their own knowledge, passion and skills to lead sports activities as a mean to help address the physical and mental health needs of their own community.

We also facilitate activities for asylum seekers living in Athens and wider Attica, including watersports activities (swimming, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding), hiking, climbing, and basketball training.

Our Mission.

REFUGYM’s motto is “exercise, empowerment and escapism”.

Our activities are grounded in the belief and knowledge that exercise improves mental and physical well-being, refugees are self-sufficient, and sports should be accessible to all.
